To oversee the effective implementation of policies and programmes for disadvantaged groups, to provide guidance and counselling with respect to academic, financial, social and other matters and to enhance the diversity within the campus.
Policy Statement
The college shall
Ensure fairness and equal opportunities for the broader community within the college and promote social inclusion.
Foster diversity among students, teaching, and non-teaching staff to eliminate perceptions of discrimination.
Cultivate a socially inclusive atmosphere for academic interaction and foster healthy interpersonal relationships among students from diverse social backgrounds.
Assist individuals or groups of students from disadvantaged sections in addressing issues related to discrimination.
Address grievances of the weaker sections of society and propose amicable solutions to their problems.
Disseminate information about welfare schemes and programs for socially weaker sections, along with relevant notifications, memoranda, and office orders issued by the Government or other related agencies.
Establish barrier-free procedures for the admission and registration of students belonging to disadvantaged groups.
Coordinate with the Government and other agencies/organizations to mobilize academic and financial resources for assisting students from disadvantaged groups.
Organise regular meetings to monitor the progress of various schemes.
